About the Community
Ozarks Meditation Community is a forming, peer-led group based in Springfield, Missouri, created to connect people in the Ozarks who want to practice meditation together.
Right now, the focus is on gathering interest and building connections online. As participation grows, the intention is to support regular group meditation sessions organized by members of the community.
This group does not promote or affirm any religion, belief system, or spiritual path. It is also not anti-religious. People of all backgrounds — religious, spiritual, secular, or undecided — are welcome.
There are no teachers, gurus, or authorities here. Everyone participates as a peer. Members are encouraged to share their personal perspectives and experiences without expectation of agreement or conversion.

Open, respectful discussion about meditation experiences, questions, and challenges.

Online Community
Connect, ask questions, share experiences, and discuss meditation and related topics through our Discord server and Facebook group.
Group Meditation
Peer-led meditation with time for reflection and casual conversation afterward.
Walks and Outings
Group walks in nature and other outdoor activities with quiet moments, followed by casual conversation.
What Group Meditation Looks Like
This outlines the typical structure of group meditation meetings once in-person gatherings begin.
Arrival & Orientation
Arrive early if you’re new to meditation. Brief introductory instructions are available for first-time meditators.
Welcome & Introductions
The group is welcomed and the format for the meeting is outlined.
Meditation (30 minutes)
A group meditation period, suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Depending on the meetup this might be silent, guided, seated or walking.
Peer-Led Reflection (15-30 minutes)
A short reflection on a meditation-related theme, shared by a member of the group.
Group Discussion (15–30 minutes)
Open, respectful discussion related to the theme or meditation practice.
Closing & Announcements
A brief closing to the formal portion of the meeting, followed by announcements and an invitation to stay for informal conversation.
Informal Social Time
Optional coffee and conversation after the meeting.
